Once downloaded onto your computer, the programme will want to update itself with the latest software and updates, this is quote normal.
Once this is done, open the programme from the desktop icon, you will be presented with the main page shown here on the left. You now have the option to complete either a 'Quick Scan' or a 'Full Scan'. We would recommend that after the initial installation, perform the Full Scan (which can take up to an hour), followed later by a more routine Quick Scan preferably once a week, and at least once every two weeks. |

Here we can see a scan being completed. Note that the scan is currently running through the 'D' drive on this computer, and has already scanned over 31,600 files in 1 minute 38 seconds.
You can choose to pause or terminate the scan at any time, although this is not recomended! |

The scan has now completed in 5 minutes 26 seconds (Quick Scan mode), and in this instance there were no 'bad boys' found. If there were, then obviously the notification window wil inform you of this.
You would now click on 'OK' to move onto the next stage. |

We have clicked on 'OK' and another window has popped up which gives us a report on the scan results.
You can close this report, once you have had a read, by clicking on the close button (arrowed). |

What happens if it finds something? Generally, you have the option to delete the file there and then, or they are 'stored' in the Quarantine area.
Here we can see 5 items in the Quarantine area that need to removed from the system. Select 'Delete All' and they will be removed. |

Checking for updates - manually. To see if you have the latest updates installed, click the 'Updates' tab, then click on the 'Check for Updates' button. Any updates will be installed for you automatically. |
