If you want to brighten up your desktop background, how about downloading one of our free desktop wallpapers?. Most of the desktop images are for display settings of 1024 x 768 pixels. To save the wallpaper:
- Left-click on any of the thumbnail pictures below (they all open in a new window).
- Right-click on the image and save it to your 'My Pictures' (Windows XP) or 'Pictures' (Windows Vista/Windows 7) folder.
- To close the window, once you have saved the picture, either press X on your keyboard, or left-click on the picture.
- Open up the 'My Pictures' or 'Pictures' folder on your computer, then right-click on your new picture, but this time select 'Set as background'.
- Admire your new dekstop!
